Address matching, UPRNs and geocoding

From addresses
to answers.

Put your address data to work. Resolve turns everyday address lists into matched properties, UPRNs and map locations — with a clear path through the records that need a closer look.

Measured, not just promised

More of your addresses matched automatically.

In StatMap’s recorded comparison on the same 114,522 Hackney addresses, MatchGB recovered more correct matches than UK Address Matcher (UKAM) 1.2.4 at a minimum precision of 99.8%.

8,139

more correct matches accepted

113,452 for MatchGB versus 105,313 for UKAM 1.2.4, at the shared precision floor. More of the file resolved automatically in this benchmark.

What we measured — comparison details

StatMap’s August 2026 benchmark uses the same prepared 114,522-row Hackney corpus and published reference UPRNs for both local runs. Recall is the share of reference records correctly accepted; precision is the share of accepted results that are correct.

UKAM is pinned to version 1.2.4 (commit 6899748), using its native precision–recall analysis. This is a StatMap-run comparison, not an independent evaluation or a claim about later UKAM releases. Results depend on data and configuration. UKAM’s separately published performance figures use different inputs, hardware and timing boundaries and are not the figures in this chart.

Make more of difficult addresses

Match more. Review less.

Real address lists contain inconsistencies, missing details and ambiguous properties. MatchGB resolves more of the file automatically, with clear evidence to help you decide the cases that need attention.

Corner House, Cuckfield: a property and a flat can share much of an address.

Know what matched.

See the supplied address alongside the suggested property. Highlighted differences make it easier to spot what agrees, what is missing and what needs checking.

Decide with evidence.

Compare alternatives and their location together before confirming a choice. Your attention goes to the records where judgement matters.

Three ways to put
Resolve to work.

Use it in your mapping workspace, process an address file, or connect your applications. Choose the route that fits the way your team works.

01 · EXPLORE & REVIEW

Earthlight

Open your address file, see matched locations on the map and review probable matches in context. Resolve is included for Earthlight customers and also available as a focused standalone package.

02 · ENRICH YOUR FILES

CSV processing

Upload a CSV and receive an enriched CSV back. Keep your columns and row order, with match status, accepted UPRNs, coordinates and explanations added for the next step.

03 · CONNECT YOUR SYSTEMS

API integration

Build address matching into your own software and regular data feeds. Resolve supports individual lookups and batch processing through the same MatchGB engine.

Technical details: streaming, APIs and capacity

Results while you upload. The raw CSV service supports true duplex streaming: earlier rows can be matched and returned while later rows are still arriving. Multipart upload is also available for whole-file validation before output begins.

Control for larger jobs. Single-address and batch JSON APIs support application integration. Uploaded jobs add progress, cancellation and paged results.

Capacity to suit the deployment. Upload and record limits are configurable. Duplex streaming requires a compatible client and hosting configuration. Read the service notes.

Authoritative data. Taken care of.

Fresh address data.
One less thing to manage.

Resolve uses Ordnance Survey NGD Address data, with automated daily update checks managed by StatMap. We handle the data supply, apply available updates and validate the refreshed dataset before bringing it into service.

Your team can concentrate on using the results. There are no address files to download, matching indexes to rebuild or routine update jobs for you to run.

Keep the work moving

Fast enough to change
how you use address data.

From an ad hoc list to a recurring data feed, Resolve is built for responsive matching. The measured run processed all 114,522 benchmark addresses in 104.440 seconds with one matcher worker.

Matcher throughput after input ingestion, with lean diagnostics. Upload, download and review time are additional; throughput varies with the data and deployment.
